Last Monday, the guitarist and also co-founder of this band, got married to the Love of his life--Krista Dintere (maiden name Akselrode). The rest of us, COMING SOON are extremely happy for him and we wish them a long and very enjoyable life together. Cheerio!

Yet another battle awaits us. The newest rock music club in Latvia invites us to their competition between rock bands. In club Rock`N`Riga, Coming Soon will battle against Yula, and both bands will play cover versions of three songs. These songs are Kick Start My Heart by Motley Crue, Perfect Strangers by Deep Purple, and, if it's a tie after these both, then for dessert - The Best by Tina Turner.

The winner will be decided by the audience and their yells. Mark your calendars - Friday, April 17, Rock`N`Riga.

It's been a while since we last played a gig, but the time has come and our first concert this year will take place at club Pablo in Liepaja, this friday. It's an event called ROCKSTAR, and seems they think we're good enough for the name. We will rock our own songs, with a bit of a new touch to it. Also we will play some popular cover songs, you can't resist singing along to.

It might be fun. Don't miss out.

This Saturday, TV company LNT will broadcast Cīņas Klubs where DJ ELLA, with us, Coming Soon backing up for her and being her musical support, will take on Edijs Šnipke in the first semi-final, and will see Andris Ērglis & Igo battling against Z-Scars in the other semifinal.

Please support DJ Ella and us, and vote to see us in the final.

We've had an incredible year. Even though it may seem we haven't been very active with gigs, we've recorded a couple of songs, we've had our song released by a music company, we've had our faces on MTV, we've played in a huge festival on the Lithuanian/Belarussian border, we've had an amazing change in the line-up.

I cannot tell you what 2009 will bring, but I'm sure it will be very different from 2008. A new day has come. Coming Soon wishes for you to find what you're really looking for, in 2009. Cheers!

Finally, we've been heard! For the first time, music label MicRec, releases Coming Soon's radio single Pelēka Saule (Gray Sun).

Boy, it's getting so cold outside now. Time to go back to clubs. So - no more outside gigs at least until April. Probably. Never say never, though.

We are now working on a couple of new songs in studio. With a little help of MicRec - the music label, we hope to release our song Pelēka Saule (Gray Sun) soon for you to hear. Also we are now working on a very catchy and funny song, that will be recorded in two languages - English and Latvian. The English version is called Flee From Me, and the Latvian is called Ārprāts Sauc (Madness Calls).

So yeah, now you know we're not dead or sleeping. We're working. Very hard. So while we're waiting, why don't we all go to this page and vote for our song LET ME SPEAK !

Thanks to everybody who came to see us a week ago, in Liepāja or Jūrmala, where we participated in Rock Legion contest. We got a special prize from Mr. Guntars Račs - he loved our song Pelēka Saule, so now we get to record it. So now I guess you'll just have to be patient, and wait for new stuff.

September 1st will be a hard day for all those, who start their classes again, and also for us, Coming Soon, because we have to play two shows that day. We've never done that. Let's see how it goes.

At noon, we play in the center of Liepaja (follow the noise), because Another New Year has started. It's sort of like a back-to-school party kind of a thing. Other bands representing our city Liepaja will play too. Like Independent Generation, Return to Surface and others.

Also, the final battle of the rock band contest Rock Legion is here, and Coming Soon has made it to the top 9. We'll play two of our songs and one folk song cover. And you won't want to miss that. The battle takes place in Jūrmala, Dzintaru estrade, at 6:00PM. The winner takes it all. So, be there and support us, yo!

This Sunday, the Coca-Cola powered Sunday Soccer will come to an end, and three of the Soundwave contest finalist bands are invited to play some music! The event takes place in Daugava Stadium, it starts at 12 PM. We've never played in a stadium before, so... Come and see! Doesn't cost a thing.

The art and music festival Be2gether, which takes place in Norviliškės, Lithuania, is very close, starting, actually, tomorrow, and it will last till Sunday. And guess what - they've invited us to play! On Sunday, at 2:30 PM. So here's what Lithuanians think about Coming Soon:

"Five young men from Latvia will cause a lot of noise!  The hearts of all Balts have an affinity to spellbinding, melodic, and progressive rock.  The music explodes with the sounds of electric guitars and drum beats, while the song lyrics are astonishing in their realism.  The boisterous musical language of Coming Soon contemplates problems of today.
The still young group, noticed three years ago, has already earned a multitude of awards, among them the Coca-Cola Soundwave, Nokia Extreme and Baltic New Music Chart, while music experts labelled Uldis Kalns as one of the best vocalists in Latvia."

After such an awesome introduction, we can't afford to let them down, so, we'll give out everything we've got. If you happen to be near, drop by. Oh, and... The one-day-ticket costs 105 Litas, and 210 Litas for the whole festival. No idea how much that is in Lats. But that's not the point, it's about being together! With our Lithuanian braļukas!

Two years ago, after 9 months of working, in Latvia's 1st Rock Café under the name Coming Soon, we played our very first show. Yes, today Coming Soon turns 2 years old. Ironical, 9 months... It's like having a baby. A baby that is now 2 years old.

Thank you to all who have been there for us, helped us out in things, invited us to play and come to our shows. We intend to make this baby grow up.

Less than a week left until the biggest event held in Latvian sandy beaches, this year. Of course, it's the Tele2 Baltic Beach Party `08. Many Latvian and foreigner bands and artists will perform on different stages. The biggest names performing - Reamonn, Sunrise Avenue, Sean Kingston, Bedwetters, Liquido and others. Amongst them all - Coming Soon, credited as one of the most promising bands from Liepaja.

Festival takes place on July 25 - 26, in Liepaja's beach. Coming Soon will rock out heavily on the BeachRock.LV stage at 8:10PM. If you happen to be there, check us out, you won't be disappointed. More info at www.beachparty.lv !

Oh, and some other pretty good news - our Latvian hit Nē! is taking Rietumu Radio TOP13 #1 spot for the second time in a row. Also we have climbed three spots in the Latvian Music Chart - from #28 to #25! Thanks!

Something you don't see very often - heavy rock bands rocking out at dance clubs. But you have the chance to see it this Wednesday. Coming Soon will play a 20 minute show in Club Essential, hosted by MTV's Latvian VJ Žanete Skarule. It's the finals of the garage band contest Soundwave - we've made it to finals, and the winner will be announced on Wednesday's night. The performances will be filmed by MTV. Your support out there would really come in handy.

Coming Soon is one of the 3 bands to have made it to Soundwave finals! For those who don't know what it is - Soundwave is a band contest, powered by MTV. The winner gets to play in MTV B-Day party in Riga, Coke Live Festival in Krakow, Poland, and a professional video filming. The other 2 bands, that have made it to finals are Age of Stones and Laime Pilnīga.

We're happy and honored to be in the top 3 (we sincerely thank the jury), and what we really need right now, is your support, friends and fans. Coming Soon introduces the new touch of the band - bassist Kristaps Leitis. He is now studying our songs, to be ready for the festivals in summer and for the new record we plan to get done by June 23. The first live performance with Kristaps will be seen in Soundwave concert in Club Essential.

Nothing is permanent. Coming Soon is going through changes right now. We say goodbye to our good friend and bassist Karlis Peterlevics. Due to the lack of being involved with the band, he leaves us. We thank Karlis for everything he has done for us, for playing with us for the past 3 years and being part of Coming Soon. Nothing is permanent, only Love. The new bassist will be announced soon.

Remember the old days, when music was all rock'n'roll with guitars, or when muscles and poodle hair on stage was the hottest thing there is? Yeah, me neither, but you just might have the chance to go back in time to those days.

Next Sunday, which is May 18, in Fontaine Palace, in Liepaja the band contest Rock Legion will take place, and Coming Soon participates. Every band plays 2 songs - one of their own and one from the old days, when music was all rock'n'roll and... Well, you get the point. We will play Indians and The Final Countdown by the 80-ties Swedish rock band Europe. We think it should be a lot of fun, if you think so too, come and see! Cost is quite friendly too - only 1 LVL
